Articles - Writing Articles as a Profession

There's literally no end to jobs for an article writer these days! You might think people don't read much now, but at this very moment, thousands of articles are being written and published at this very moment. Including this one.

There is no better way to import a limited amount of knowledge via a well-written article. In a single article, you can write about the accumulation of world politics, or simply describe the content of your breakfast. If you are a good writer, you can write an article about anything, anything at all! If you are a great writer, you can write ten completely different articles on the same topic. A simple title or a concept is all you need to end up writing a 1000-word article. It all depends on the client and the type of articles you have to write, as well as the budget and the client has allocated for the project,

In the first article of the series, let's first talk about the different kinds of article-writing jobs that you can find on the marketplaces.

1. Bulk Articles

This is the kind of project that I encourage newcomers to apply for. These projects ask for articles in bulks, or a large number, i.e. 100 articles every week. I am not exactly sure at the moment where these articles go, but I am researching the concept. Business owners and blog writers are the ones who usually look for bulk articles, in dozens every day. If you have a team or work in a team, it will be better to take on such projects together. The sheer number of articles needed every day is impossible for a person to write on their own.

The articles clients need are usually related - directly or indirectly - to their own business or blog. I am attaching a sample job post on Upwork below; I will be writing another separate article on this topic shortly.

2. Blog Articles

All the blogs that we see on the Internet on a different topics, who do you think writes them? Yes, sometimes the person we read about in the "About" section of the blogs is the one writing and maintaining the blogs; however, most of the time, it's writers like us who does all the researching and the writing.

Articles needed for a blog is directly related to the blog itself. If the blog is a mom writing about her life, rest assured most of the articles will be related to parenting, children, home making, cooking, baking, healthy snacks, home decorations, and more related topic. For blogs reviewing electronic items, all the articles will be related to using and buying gadgets, different new gadgets on the market, trouble shooting.

Example below:

3. Articles for Businesses

Most businesses have an online presence these days, in forms of their own websites, social media pages and more. The business can be an online or a physical one, but a website helps their clients come to a decision about choosing the right services. A plumber, a carpenter, a nanny service, an e-commerce site, a school - all kinds of businesses need articles.

These business owners need articles not just for their main websites, but also for their blogs. This practice isn't very common in our country yet but abroad, most business websites also maintain a blog. The articles needed for a business blog is closely related with the service or the product of the business itself. For example, a business that sells health food will publish articles not only about their products, but also healthy recipes that use their products.

4.  Articles related to Products/Affiliate Marketing Articles

These articles directly or indirectly markets certain products and services. There are a number of different ways to write articles for these purposes, and they all depend on the client and their requirements. As per their instructions, you can directly praise a certain product, compare between them, make a list of the popular products in the category or be extremely honest about the whole thing.

Products from the most popular eCommerce sites in the world - Amazon, Etsy, Alibaba, AliExpress -  are linked to these articles. If you article convinces a potential client looking for - say a handbag, a speaker or a new dress - to click on the link and buy it directly from the eCommerce site, the website gets money.

Articles for Affiliate Marketing requires you to be persuasive and convincing, a good writer who can take a simple product and write a whole page on it.

That's all for today. I'm planning individual articles for each of these topics next. So let me know if you have any specific questions.
